It’s the most hotly anticipated collaboration of the year, just when we thought H&M couldn’t top it after the Isabel Marantz collaboration in 2013 they announce that Oliver Rousteing is to design a collection of Balmain for h&m.
The extreme secrecy behind the collaboration means that we are only getting drip fed pieces of information, but if its anything like the new season that Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner were wearing at the American billboards back in may, then we are in for a treat.
Unfortunately one of the things we have been told is that it won’t all be affordable (sniffle..) however, if you, like me.. love designer things, then I suggest investing in one of the pieces, as not only will it be worth it to wear, but I’m sure in years to come it will be a collectable and may just help you on your way to buy true Balmain.
I recently read an article in an Elle magazine where Oliver Rousteing was interviewed, it was an interview that completely changed my opinion of him. Rousteing is not the party animal, Kardashian worshipper we all think him to be, he is in fact a strong feminist with intellectual concepts and ideas. Oliver says ‘I’m a feminist, what I do is about the power of women, the way they are winning in the world and the balls they have’.
A near 30yr old, who has already (basically) conquered the world with his ideas of fashion and feminism, says ‘ I am designing for todays modern global women, she doesn’t belong to just one place, she’s glamorous, confident sexy , strong. She is not afraid…’ so girls, If you’re one for a investment or one for buying something you believe in (or just really really want) then make sure you stayed tuned in on November 5th to see the whole collection revealed!
